  • The longest-running big lie
    Caroline Glick - Jerusalem Post - January 1, 2007
Nobel Peace Prize Laureate Yasser Arafat was a master of the big lie. Since he invented global terrorism with the founding of the Fatah terror organization in 1959, Arafat successfully portrayed himself as a freedom fighter while introducing the world to passenger jet hijackings, schoolhouse massacres and embassy takeovers. Last week, with the quiet release of a 33-year-old US State Department cable, a good chunk of the edifice of his great lie was destroyed.

  • Lost in the Palestinians' shadow
Evelyn Gordon - Jerusalem Post - January 3, 2007  The Israeli-Palestinian conflict, for instance, has claimed some 5,400 lives - 4,300 Palestinians and 1,100 Israelis - over the past six years. That compares to an estimated 400,000 people (no precise statistics exist) killed in Darfur over the last three. Yet an archives search reveals that The New York Times published only 418 articles on Darfur last year, compared to 2,528 on Israel and 1,146 on the Palestinians.

  • A time to hate
    Jonathan Rosenblum - Jerusalem Post - January 3, 2007
Ecclesiastes reminds us that there is also "a time to hate." Would we really wish to live, asks Boston Globe columnist Jeff Jacoby (an observant Jew), in a society in which no one gets angry when children are slaughtered, a society in which there is an instantaneous dispensation for the most horrific acts of cruelty? I would not. And that is why I was glad to see Saddam hanging at the end of a noose.

  • PA prime minister: ‘Save your bullets for the Jews’
    Stan Goodenough - Jerusalem Newswire - January 5, 2007

Palestinian Authority Prime Minister Ismail Haniyeh (Hamas), freshly returned from making the Hajj to Saudi Arabia, Thursday urged both his Hamas terrorists and PA chairman Mahmoud Abbas’ Fatah terrorists to stop shooting at each other and save their bullets for use against the Jews.

“Let's top this bloodshed and rivalry. Let's tackle our problems through dialogue, not weapons. These weapons should be directed only against the Israeli enemy,” he said.

His appeal came after two bloody days of infighting that saw Palestinian Arabs slaughter 13 of their own people and wound at least 20 more.

Children were among the casualties of the savage strife, which saw Hamas gunmen Thursday riddle and repeatedly stab the body of a Fatah security official, killing his two daughters at the same time.

According to a report in The Jerusalem Post, while this violence was raging, “Palestinian” women protested in the streets crying: “Spare the bullets, shame, shame.”

Unsurprisingly Abbas – feted by the world as a “moderate” – has not denounced Haniyeh’s proposal that their people join forces to kill Israelis instead of fighting each other.

His silence is expected to encourage a new outbreak of terrorism against Israel.

TheThe Mountains of Israel is an exciting and refreshing new perspective on the Arab-Israeli conflict, clearly outlining how God is fulfilling His Word in modern-day Israel.
