    A Meaningful Gift!
  • Gaza's Long Shadow
By Carolyn Glick - Jerusalem Post - September 16, 2005  Sometime between destroying the abandoned synagogues, looting the destroyed Jewish villages, tearing apart the hothouses, throwing grenades at IDF patrols guarding Moshav Netiv Ha'asara and shooting mortars at Sderot, the Palestinians discovered Egypt. At the direction of Hamas, and with the help of PA militias and Egyptian soldiers, thousands of Palestinians crossed the wall separating Palestinian Rafah from Egyptian Rafah. Among the merrymakers, unknown numbers of terrorists crossed back and forth shuttling arms and reinforcements into Gaza in unknown quantities.

  • Hold Palestinians accountable
Jerusalem Post - September 13, 2005  Israel's withdrawal was not yet a day old when the first post-disengagement Palestinian mortar landed in Sderot. If Washington is not quick to hold the Palestinian Authority responsible for such attacks, and demand effective action, disengagement will have been for naught and terrorism will escalate again. Now is not the time for evenhandedness, but for holding the Palestinians accountable for their actions.

  • Take back the holy sites
by Michael Freund - Jerusalem Post - September 13, 2005  And so Israel should not hesitate to do what should have been done already: take back Joseph's Tomb, reassert its sovereignty over the Temple Mount, and eject the PA-controlled Muslim Wakf from the Cave of the Patriarchs in Hebron. These three sites, more than any others, symbolize our ties to this Land, and the abiding faith upon which they are based. It is time for all of them to return to sole Israeli control.

  • America's dark side
By Carolyn Glick - Jerusalem Post - September 12, 2005  The Bush administration is constantly declaring its revolutionary strategy of transforming the Arab world through democracy. But how can anyone take it seriously when it repeatedly humiliates the only democracy in the Middle East as it courts favor with anti-democratic, terror-supporting Arab autocracies while winking at their inherent, genocidal hatred of the Jewish people?

  • The Temple Mount: Getting Serious
Arlene Kushner - IsraelNationalNews.com - September 15, 2005   At the heart of this war is the Temple Mount, for that Mount is both the symbol and the concrete evidence of our ancient presence here. I cannot emphasize this sufficiently. If the Palestinians can convince the world that we did not have a presence on the Mount, then they will have robbed us of our oldest and deepest link to this land and our most solemn claim to it now. If we participate in this theft, by relinquishing what is ours through appeasement, apathy and foolishness, we will have done ourselves enormous harm.

  • Was it worth it?

By Ryan Jones - Jerusalem Newswire - September 15, 2005

Prime Minister Ariel Sharon was the talk of the ball at this week's World Summit in New York marking the United Nations' 60th anniversary.

World leaders from every corner of the globe lined up to meet with the once ostracized Israeli. Even the heads of Muslim nations openly hostile to the Jewish state couldn't wait for their “chance” encounter with “the disengager.”

In payment for that very out-of-the-ordinary privilege, nearly 10,000 Jews who had sacrificed so much in obedience to the Almighty's command to settle the land were ripped from their homes.

As callous as it may sound, the back-slapping going on at the UN is precisely one of the reasons Sharon insisted the Jews of Gaza and northern Samaria had to go. It is all part of the “unprecedented” diplomatic rewards he claims Jerusalem won by quitting those areas.

Quite accurately did prime ministerial candidate Binyamin Netanyahu point out that Sharon had “traded territories for red carpets.”

But can anyone honestly believe these amicable feelings towards Israel will last much past Sharon's stay in New York?

Knesset Speaker Reuven Rivlin Wednesday noted in response to the spectacle at the UN that “the world always loves Israeli leaders when they fold up in the face of international pressure.”

What happens if Israel does not follow up its “disengagement” with further concessions? And having set the bar so high with Gaza and northern Samaria, it is doubtful a mere removal of several “illegal” outposts is going to satisfy the world's appetite.

Rather than lasting international acceptance, Israel has been placed on a path of accelerated dismemberment.

Having read the end of “The Book,” it is clear Israel's full dismemberment will not be allowed. The discontinuation of adequate concessions is certain to elicit as-yet-unseen international pressure and even fury.

Unprecedented blessing does await this nation, but Israel will not find it at the hands of a godless world.
