Jerusalem Day - 2000 - The March of the Faithful to Biblical Jerusalem and the Temple Mount
33
years ago, in June 1967, the G-d of Israel caused one of the biggest
miracles in the history of His nation. After almost 1900 years of exile and
destruction after the Second Temple was destroyed in 70 CE, 19 years after the
foundation of the State of Israel, G-d brought His people back to the
place which is their heart, soul and focus, to the Temple Mount. Two weeks
earlier, all the Arab enemies of Israel surrounded the small stat on all sides
with all their heavy weapons and stated that at last they would destroy Israel
which had been their goal since the foundation of the state.
When the war
started, G-d appeared in the battles and again became the general and
commander of the Israeli army. Together with His brave and devoted soldiers of
the Israeli army, He defeated all the Arab forces on all the fronts in a period
of 6 days. He gave Israel the biggest victory in her history against all the
Arab countries and their many forces. He brought back the Israelis to the most
Biblical areas of the land, to Judea, Samaria, Gaza, Sinai and the Golan
Heights. The climax of this war was when G-d, together with His heroic
Israeli parachute battalion, liberated the Temple Mount and Biblical Jerusalem,
the city which G-d and King David had designated to be the capital of
Israel.
A few hundred Israeli soldiers gave their lives in this heroic
battle. The most exciting moment was when the soldiers, together with the
Israeli tanks, entered through the Lion Gate and then immediately through the
Tribes Gate of the Temple Mount (NB the symbolic names of the gates). They
jumped from their tanks and jeeps and ran with great excitement to the rock of
Abraham and Isaac, the location of the First and Second Temples. This moment
will never be forgotten in the history of Israel, when the soldiers, and I had
the privilege of being with them , stood and wept before G-d in the
location of the Holy of Holies together with all the Israeli nation who wept in
the streets, and homes and on the other fields of battle when they heard General
Motta Gur announcing over the radio: “The Temple Mount is in our
hands”. The great heroes of this critical godly battle could not stop
their deep emotions when they stood before G-d at the most exciting
moment of the last 2000 years and felt that they were the messengers of hundreds
of generations whom G-d chose to be the soldiers of His army for his
prophetic end-time plans and, at the climax, the Temple Mount and the rebuilding
of the temple. Prayers, deep desires, prophecies and dreams became a reality.
The Temple Mount and the temple which symbolised the deepest hopes of the Jewish
people for the prophetic end-time redemption of themselves and the land of
Israel and the promises of the G-d of Israel through His prophets were
fulfilled before the eyes of our generation.
This major godly day has
since that exciting moment, become an eternal holiday in the new-old Israel and
for all the coming generations. The name of this day is “Jerusalem
Day” - the city of G-d and His hill in the midst of it which gave
eternal life to the Israeli nation. This is the city without which Israel cannot
exist as a nation and a state. This is the city which gave them their identity
because their beloved G-d dwells in the midst of it and repeatedly saved
them and gave them hope for redemption. This is the city to which the Israelites
swore “If I forget you, O Jerusalem, let my right hand forget her
cunning. If I do not remember you, let my tongue cleave to the roof of my mouth;
if I do not set Jerusalem above my highest joy.” (Psalm 137:5,6) and
they never forgot Jerusalem. How could they forget the city where their beloved
G-d dwells? How could they forget the city of their beloved messiah, King
David? How could they forget the city to where their forefathers made a
pilgrimage three times a year to meet their eternal G-d? How could they
forget the city where prophets prophesied, where they heard the voice of the
G-d of Israel -n the city which their forefathers built to be the most
beautiful city in the world and the most beautiful house of G-d in all the
world for the honour of their beloved G-d? They prayed with their faces
towards Jerusalem and Jerusalem appeared in every sentence of their prayers
asking G-d to bring them back to their home and capital. This was the
greatest desire of G-d Himself and of all the prophets to again see His
people dwelling in Jerusalem and forever. It is no doubt that it was a major
godly moment which will never be forgotten in the eternal history of the people
of G-d.
On the 1st June, 2000 - Jerusalem Day - The Temple
Mount and Land of Israel Faithful Movement marched from Ammunition Hill in
north-east Jerusalem to the Temple Mount. We decided to march to the hill of
G-d to state very clearly, firstly to the G-d of Israel that we are
faithful to His prophetic commandment to Israel which we so clearly heard again
on the Temple Mount 33 years ago to rebuild His house now and forever in the
life of this generation; to make His word to Israel through the prophet Isaiah a
reality in our lifetime for Israel and for all the nations: "The word
that Isaiah the son of Amoz saw concerning Judah and Jerusalem. And it shall
come to pass in the last days, that the mountain of the Lord's house shall be
established on the top of the mountains, and shall be exalted above the hills;
and all nations shall flow to it. And many people shall go and say, Come, and
let us go up to the mountain of the Lord, to the house of the God of Jacob; and
he will teach us of his ways, and we will walk in his paths; for from Zion shall
go forth Torah, and the word of the Lord from Jerusalem. And he shall judge
among the nations, and shall decide for many people; and they shall beat their
swords into plowshares, and their spears into pruning hooks; nation shall not
lift up sword against nation, nor shall they learn war any more. O house of
Jacob, come, and let us walk in the light of the Lord." (Isaiah 2:1-5)
Secondly our march was in the name and for the memorial of the heroic Israeli
soldiers who died in the battle for the liberation of the Temple Mount,
Jerusalem and the holy land of Israel; to tell them on this day that they fell
in the fulfilment of the object of the prayers, desires and dreams of hundreds
of generations in the terrible exile and for the desires and dreams of G-d
Himself against a cruel enemy who wanted to destroy Israel.
We marched
along the same route taken by the soldiers on their way to the Temple Mount. The
most difficult and critical battle occurred on Ammunition Hill. Here the
Jordanians started the battle to occupy north-west Jerusalem. The battle was
hand-to hand and the G-d of Israel Who appeared in this battle, as in
others in this godly war, gave the Israeli soldiers Ammunition Hill. The battle
was very difficult and many soldiers fell in this critical battle.
On
this hill, in front of the memorial tank which still stands there, the Temple
Mount Faithful and many of their supporters promised the soldiers who died in
this battle that they would never forget their heroic sacrifice and the cause
for which they died; that they would never forget that they fought on that hill
and along the way to biblical Jerusalem for the prophetic end-time vision of
G-d and the prophet Isaiah to again bring the G-d of Israel to His
house on the Temple Mount and in the midst of the life of Israel and all the
nations and to liberate Jerusalem and the land of Israel for the G-d and
people of Israel.
After the prayers and the memorial ceremony, the
Faithful marched to the next memorial stone for the fallen soldiers and from
there to Orient House which has become the focus of the PLO activities in
Jerusalem. The PLO flag flies from the top of this building and from here the
agents of the terrorist, Yasser Arafat, carry out their political campaign to
occupy Jerusalem and make it a "Palestinian" capital. We came to
demonstrate against this and to call on the Israeli Government to immediately
stop this evil anti-godly campaign which has as its main goal the destruction of
Israel and the continuation of the very long foreign pagan occupation of the
Temple Mount, Jerusalem. We called on the Israeli Government to overcome their
weakness, to show faithfulness only to the G-d of Israel Who gave the
Temple Mount, Jerusalem and the land of Israel to the people of Israel alone and
repeatedly commanded them not to give the land to any foreigners, especially to
these cruel enemies of G-d and Israel. We called on the Israeli Government
to immediately close this centre, to remove th PLO flag from the roof and from
any other place in the holy land of Israel, to stop the Arab desecration of the
Temple Mount and to cancel the foreign "Palestinian Authority" in the
holy land of Israel, to purify the Temple Mount and to undertake the key event
in the life of Israel and all the world - the rebuilding of the temple on the
holy mountain of G-d. We hung many Israeli flags all over the area. In the
demonstration we called on the Israeli Government not to show weakness and to
give in under international pressure especially that of the President of the
United States, Bill Clinton, to divide Jerusalem again and to give villages
surrounding Jerusalem and other parts of the land into the control of the
terrorists of the PLO.
From this place the march continued to the
Damascus Gate of the Old City where we danced with Israeli flags, prayed and
sang prophetic songs. From here our message was to the enemies of Israel that
they have no chance and only have illusions if they think they can stop
G-d from fulfilling His prophetic plans with Israel. Our message to the
people of Israel and her friends was to be strong with G-d and His
promises and that soon we shall see the fulfilment of all of them.
The
march continued along the main street of the Old City to the Temple Mount. Near
the memorial stones in the Old City for those Israelis who were killed by the
terrorists of the PLO, we stopped for prayer and to commit ourselves to
accomplish what they started. When we came to the Temple Mount groups of the
marchers went up on the mount - the climax of the march - to swear faithfulness
to the G-d of Israel and the holy cause which He gave to our Movement in
front of the Holy of Holies and to bring the pure spirit of the Israeli soldiers
who died for the G-d of Israel, for His holy hill, Jerusalem and the land
which He promised to His people, Israel. They swore to continue the historical
campaign of The Temple Mount and Land of Israel Faithful Movement until our
godly cause will be fulfilled and become a reality in our lifetime.
The
presence of G-d covered all the area of the Temple Mount and in-between
the lines of the marchers exactly as it was 33 years ago when the Temple Mount
was liberated and we felt and knew that very soon the enemies of the G-d
and people of Israel will be removed from the holy mountain of G-d. from
Jerusalem and from all over the land which G-d gave forever to Israel and
the vision of Isaiah will become a reality in the life of this generation in
Israel and all over the world.
This historical march of the Temple Mount
Faithful Movement took place at a very critical time in the history of Israel
and even of all the nations. Many major prophetic end-time events are
going to occur in the near future on the Temple Mount and in Jerusalem and the
land of Israel. We felt that this march took place only a short time before
these events. All the troubles and difficulties are a part of this time but they
cannot stop the coming of these events. These troubles will become even worse
and there will be difficult times in Israel and Jerusalem. The international
campaign and pressure will increase and even a war with all the enemies of
Israel and many allied nations from all over the world who want to destroy the
people of G-d and take Jerusalem away from them is probable. Those who
live in Israel at this critical time know this not only through prophecy but
also through the political reality and the atmosphere in the holy land of
Israel. We should be strong with G-d and trust Him and prepare ourselves
to be good and faithful soldiers in the army of G-d to stop them and their
evil plans. We know that G-d and His Israeli soldiers will defeat them in
Jerusalem and that all of His promises will be fulfilled. Everyone in Israel
feels that the Word of G-d to the prophet Zechariah is soon going to be a
reality in Jerusalem and the land: "The burden of the word of the Lord
concerning Israel, says the Lord, who stretches out the heavens, and lays the
foundation of the earth, and forms the spirit of man inside him. Behold, I will
make Jerusalem a cup of reeling to all the people around, and it shall also be
against Judah in the siege against Jerusalem. And on that day I will make
Jerusalem a burdensome stone for all the peoples; all who burden themselves with
it shall be grievously hurt. And all the peoples of the earth shall be gathered
together against it. On that day, says the Lord, I will strike every horse with
panic, and its rider with madness; and I will open my eyes upon the house of
Judah, and will strike every horse of the nations with blindness. And the
governors of Judah shall say in their heart, The inhabitants of Jerusalem are my
strength through the Lord of hosts their God. On that day I will make the
governors of Judah like a hearth of fire among trees, and like a torch of fire
in a sheaf; and they shall devour all the peoples around, on the right hand and
on the left; and Jerusalem shall be inhabited again in her own place, in
Jerusalem. And the Lord shall save the tents of Judah first, that the glory of
the house of David and the glory of the inhabitants of Jerusalem do not magnify
themselves against Judah. On that day shall the Lord defend the inhabitants of
Jerusalem; and he who is feeble among them shall be as David on that day; and
the house of David shall be like a divine being, like the angel of the Lord
before them. And it shall come to pass on that day, that I will seek to destroy
all the nations that come against Jerusalem. And I will pour upon the house of
David, and upon the inhabitants of Jerusalem, the spirit of grace and of
supplication; and they shall look towards me, regarding those whom the nations
have pierced; and they shall mourn for him, as one mourns for an only son, and
shall be in bitterness over him, as one who is in bitterness for his firstborn.
... And it shall come to pass, that everyone who is left of all the nations
which came against Jerusalem shall go up from year to year to worship the King,
the Lord of hosts, and to keep the Feast of Booths. And it shall be, that
whoever will not come up of all the families of the earth to Jerusalem to
worship the King, the Lord of hosts, upon them shall be no rain. ... And every
pot in Jerusalem and in Judah shall be sacred to the Lord of hosts; and all
those who sacrifice shall come and take of them, and cook in them; and on that
day there shall not be Canaanites any more in the house of the Lord of
hosts." (Zechariah 12:1-10; 14:16,17,21)
Everyone in the world
who reads this message is called on to face this godly challenge and to be with
Israel and The Temple Mount and Land of Israel Faithful Movement in these
critical times and events. This is a godly test for all of us at a godly
critical time. G-d expects everyone to be on the right side with Him and
Israel and to fight against their enemies. The wonderful, godly, prophetic,
end-time vision belongs to those who will accept this godly challenge. They will
have the privilege of seeing this Word of G-d as a daily reality in their
lives. "Awake, awake; put on your strength, O Zion; put on your
beautiful garments, O Jerusalem, the holy city; from now on there shall no more
come to you the uncircumcised and the unclean. Shake yourself from the dust;
arise, and sit down, O Jerusalem; loose yourself from the bands of your neck, O
captive daughter of Zion. ... How beautiful upon the mountains are the feet of
him who brings good news, who announces peace; who brings good news of good, who
announces salvation; who says to Zion, Your God reigns! The voice of your
watchmen is heard; together shall they sing; for they shall see eye to eye, when
the Lord returns to Zion. Break forth into joy, sing together, you ruins of
Jerusalem; for the Lord has comforted his people, he has redeemed Jerusalem. The
Lord has made bare his holy arm in the eyes of all the nations; and all the ends
of the earth shall see the salvation of our God." (Isaiah 52:1,2,7-10)
"Also the sons of the stranger, who join themselves to the Lord, to
serve him, and to love the name of the Lord, to be his servants, every one who
keeps the Sabbath and does not profane it, and all who hold fast to my covenant;
Even them will I bring to my holy mountain, and make them joyful in my house of
prayer; their burnt offerings and their sacrifices shall be accepted upon my
altar; for my house shall be called a house of prayer for all peoples."
(Isaiah(56:6,7)
In the G–d of Israel and His Word we trust.
